Lekshmi (daughter of Parameswaran Pillai) received the prestigious  Rajyapuraskar award for the joyous pursuit in the service of mankind as a Guide in the Year 2000. This award is presented by the Governor or Patron/President of the State Association on the recommendation of State Chief Commissioner.

The Rajya Puraskar is the highest award that a Scout and Guide can achieve at the state level. The Governor also released the Foundation Flag, the sale proceeds of which will be sent to the National Headquarters of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, to be utilized for the needy all over the country.
