Smt B. Bhavani Amma (1915-1991) was the eldest of 13 children of Cherukara Parameswaran Pilai and Koyikkaleth Bhargavi Amma. She had spent her childhood in Koyikkaleth Tharavadu, Pallipad.
She is married to R. Gopala Pillai from the Kakkanad Karavallil family of Karipuzha. Later they shifted their residence to Komaricheth, Muthukulam.
Sri. Gopala Pillai studied at S.B College Changanassery and attained his FA degree (Faculty of Arts) from Trichinapally, Tamilnadu. He subsequently went to Jamshedpur in pursuit of a career.
His aristocratic personality and command over English made him popular among the bureaucrats in Travancore.
He passed away in the year 1943 at the age of 39. Despite losing her husband at the young age of 28, Bhavani amma raised and educated her 5 children:- K.G Ramakrishna Pillai(Chithiran), K.G Madhavan Pillai, K.G. Parameswaran Pillai(Aniyan), K.G Padmanabha Pillai(Manikuttan) and B. Bhargavi Amma (Pakki) all alone. She is remembered for her commitment and dedication to her children.
