Vasanthiamma

Vasanthiamma was born into the famous Koyikkaleth Kudumbam as the 6th child of Cherukara Parameshwaran Pillai and Koyikkaleth Bhargaviamma. She was known for her intelligence and academic excellence. She was extremely good in mathematics and had a vast knowledge of scriptures and astrology. She was very pious and kind and her benevolence has touched all who have interacted with her.

She was married to Velikkakathu Sreedhara Panicker(also known as VGS Panicker) who hailed from an eminent Nair family near Kaithavana, Alappuzha. Her husband was a talented entrepreneur and ceramic expert who with her support was able to build many businesses that have made a name to this day.

After years of moving around, they finally decided to put their roots at Elippakulam near Kayamkulam and Oachira. They settled in Thondalil House with some acreage and spend quite a few happy years in this house.
VGS Panicker died in 1999 at Thondalil house. Vasanthiamma spent her remaining life with her daughters Radhikadeviamma (Radha) and Ajithakumari until she died in 2007 at the age of 84. She will always be remembered as a strong and independent woman who loved doing good deeds and helping people and as a warm and loving grandmother who doted on her grandchildren.
